March 16-18, 2007

We are hosting a celebration of contemplative art showcasing local sangha artists. In the Shambhala-Buddhist worldview, the arts are a way of awakening the human mind to the variety, energy and the vastness of the sense perceptions.

Weekend Schedule:

Friday 6-10PM: Gallery opening. Music, poetry and hors d'oeuvres

Saturday 9:30AM-1PM
- Tai chi
- Hands on workshop "Exploring Your Senses Through Shambhala Art" with Kerry Schwartz. Kerry is a Masters Degree candidate in Transformative Art at John F. Kennedy University. She is an artist and a mother of two children. Kerry has studied the Shambhala Arts teachings for many years and been a student of Shambhala Buddhism for thirty years. She owned a graphic arts business and currently facilitates arts workshops that merge contemplative discipline with visual art. cost: $5 materials fee
- Gallery hours: 2-4PM

Sunday 9:30AM-1PM
- sitting meditation
- Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche video tape "Discovering Elegance" , tea and discussion.
